Cross Timbers Winery

On October 18th, 2009 the Stockyards Paranormal Investigations team returned for a second investigation at Cross Timbers Winery in Grapevine. The history of this location is reported in our previous investigative report. Our earlier investigation had resulted in a couple of really strong EVPs so we were excited about returning.

Our team for the evening consisted of Cheryl, Shirley, Monica, Kevin, and Cheryl’s daughter Amy. We were also joined by Lori. Lori is the sister of Aimee, the manager at Cross Timbers Winery. We learned that Lori had conducted an investigation with some friends earlier in the year. She reported that she had been touched while investigating on the second floor of the barn. This was especially interesting to us, since Kevin had reported a similar happening on our previous investigation.

We began the evening with Shirley, Cheryl, and Amy in the main house. Monica, Kevin, and Lori were in the barn. The group in the barn was using the K2 meter and trying to communicate. We got nothing on the meter during this session. There were no unusual EMF readings in the barn area. We did experience a couple of strange loud noises. However we were unable to verify what these noises were.

We began the second session in the main house. We had checked the house for any high EMF fields and found none. However the K2 meter began flashing while it was placed on the bar. We attempted to have a question and answer session however the meter would just flash periodically and not always in response to questions. This flashing continued for the next 45 minutes. We double checked the EMF readings nearby and found only very low readings and not enough to make the K2 flash.

During this session we also picked up an EVP. This is very difficult to make out and is included with the report. I hear about three words with the last one sounding like “someone”.

We had asked at one point for the spirit to rattle the door and as if on cue the door rattled. We have included this recording on this report as well. We could not get the noise to repeat so it is difficult to say that it was paranormal.

We ended the evening with another session in the upstairs part of the barn. We utilized the K2 meter again. Unlike our first session we got frequent flashings from the meter during this session. We again checked the EMF readings nearby and they were very low and should not have caused the K2 meter to flash.

We felt somewhat frustrated during the evening as it appeared at times as though a spirit was trying to communicate. We had strange noises, the flashes on the K2 meter, a couple of cold spots, a few shadows seeming to move. But none of these happenings would be consistent or would they be in response to questions. Based on this investigation and our previous investigation we definitely believe that there is paranormal activity present. We hope to return during 2010 to conduct a third investigation of this wonderful place. We would like to thank our host Aimee and the owner of Cross Timbers Winery to allow us to conduct the investigation.
