Occasional Creations

Occasional Creations is located at 138 Olive Street in Keller Old Town. It is now home to a bakery that serves delicious cakes, muffins, cookies, etc. The house was previously occupied by the business known as the Day Lily and Other Mismash. Stockyards Paranormal conducted an investigation here in 2007. A complete history of the house is located on our website on the previous investigation. A brief history of the home is that it was built in 1907. The home was purchased in the 1920s by Thomas Bayne White and was owned by the family for many years.
The current owners reported no significant paranormal activity. They did report that there were occasional strange noises. Recently several cake pans mysteriously fell to the floor for no apparent reason. During our previous investigation we picked up a possible EVP, but we felt it was inconclusive and were very anxious to give this location another try.
On the evening of June 26, 2010 Stockyards Paranormal conducted a second investigation of this location. Our team for the night consisted of Cheryl, Shirley, Paula, Kevin, and Amy. We were joined by guests Kendal, Shannon, and Cayleigh as well as Cheryl’s daughter Abby.
We did have a few personal experiences during the evening. Early on, several in the group thought they heard footsteps while investigating the downstairs. While upstairs Cheryl thought she caught a glimpse of a figure standing near the front window in the alcove area at the top of the stairs. During an EVP session several heard a wire rack rattling for no apparent reason. During this early session, Cheryl asked for any spirits present to “scream out as loud as you can”. At the time they heard nothing but this would come back on us later.
During a later session, Kevin asked if T.B. White was present. There was an immediate loud knock which is audible on our recordings. This could have been a normal house noise but it did seem to be in response to a question.
We incorporated a new piece of equipment for this investigation called a PX. This is an electronic device that picks up EMF fluctuations to activate a catalogue of words contained in the library stored in the device. The idea is that a spirit can manipulate this device to speak words and communicate. For most of the investigation the PX was turned on and we had no activity. Later in the evening we were all gathered in the upstairs hallway. Cheryl asked that if any spirits were present that they should “pick the person who seems the friendliest” to touch them or say something to them. Suddenly the PX came out with a string of undecipherable words that lasted a couple of seconds. We all began to talk, reacting to these words; the PX gave a couple of more short bursts of words, then stopped. Immediately Abby began to feel ill and was very emotionally upset. She had to go outside with Cheryl.
Abby later told us that she could hear a little girl screaming and that it seemed to come from the small doorway that leads to the attic storeroom. We have reviewed this portion of our recordings several times. We cannot make sense of the words that the PX device spoke at this time. We have to categorize this as under a personal experience rather than direct evidence. The words did not make sense. We did not pick up any additional voices in the way of EVPs and there was no evidence captured on still cameras or video at this time. However it is possible that Abby could have picked up on the distress felt by a spirit present.
Once again we had a great time investigating one of the historic houses in Old Town Keller. We would like to thank the owners of Cupcakes to Go and the owners of the home for allowing us to conduct this investigation. We were very happy to have our guests join us for the evening and hope they enjoyed themselves as much as we did. And if you’ve got a bit of a sweet tooth, you can’t find a better place to satisfy that craving than Cupcakes To Go.
