Miss Molly's
The Stockyards Paranormal Investigations team visited Miss Molly’s in the Ft. Worth stockyards on June 22, 2006. Terri, Dawn, and Kevin were joined by new team members Rebecca and Lenka. Paula from North Texas Ghosthunters joined us for the evening. Miss Molly’s is listed in several publications as one of the most haunted places in Ft. Worth.
Miss Molly’s is a bed and breakfast located at 109 West Exchange, Ft. Worth. Miss Molly’s has operated as a boarding house, bordello, and now a bed and breakfast. If you would like to obtain more information on the location go to www.missmollyshotel.com. Miss Molly’s is also featured on Terri’s ghost tours of the Ft. Worth Stockyards.
As you come upstairs from street level there is a large parlor area. The rooms are all adjacent to this parlor. Each room is decorated in a different style. We began our investigation in Miss Josie’s room and made our way on to Miss Amelia’s room, the Cowboy Room, the Rodeo Room, and the Cattleman’s Room. While we didn’t have any personal experiences, several members had feelings that others were with us. These others also included two members having the feeling of a cat spirit being with us. Our analysis of recordings have revealed one EVP. This was caught in the Cattleman’s Room. Our whole group was in the room at the time.
The EVP like many others is somewhat hard to distinguish. It was picked up by Kevin’s digital recorder and seems to say “listen…drop that”. Each room has a lot of items on the dressers and tables. We believe that the EVP may have been referring to someone touching or handling an item that made the spirit unhappy. The other possibility is that the spirit was referring to an investigator that was using dowsing rods in this room.
Most of our photographs from that night do not have orbs. However there were several orbs that were picked up on photos and these are linked to this website. There was a photograph that seems to show a face in a mirror. This photograph was made by Paula. The opinions of this photograph are differing among our group and will be added to the site for further evaluation.
Outside street noise and the noise from the window unit air conditioners provide some difficulties in the recordings. If we are able to do another investigation of the location it might be better done later at night and during the winter months.
All told it was a great experience. Miss Molly’s is certainly a trip back in time to the old days of Cow Town. We would like to thank the management of Miss Molly’s for allowing us access to their wonderful establishment.
