Miss Mollies

Investigation

On the evening of June 3, 2008 the Stockyards Paranormal Investigations team returned to Miss Mollies in the Ft. Worth Stockyards. We had previously conducted an investigation of Miss Mollies in June 2006. Since that investigation we have added a number of new members, so for most of the team this was their first time here. Tonight’s investigators were Kevin, Monica, Cheryl, Casey, and Caitlin.

Miss Mollies is a wonderful bed and breakfast located in the Ft. Worth Stockyards. There are several rooms all decorated in different styles, but holding the western theme of Ft. Worth. Miss Mollies was known as a hotel, but also as a brothel. Its Madame was called Miss Josephine and her room is one where a lot of activity has been reported.

Our host for the evening was Donna, who is currently the business manager for Miss Mollies. Donna lives at Miss Mollies and has experienced a number of strange noises. She also reported to us that the television in her room frequently changes channels on its own. It mysteriously changes to a certain religious channel.

During the course of the investigation we experienced a few unusual occurrences. We got very high fluctuating EMF readings in most of the rooms. Despite our efforts we could never determine a reason or source for the fluctuations.

Shortly after starting the investigation, Donna came out of her room to tell us that her television had changed channels. We went in and looked and sure enough it was set to the religious channel.

Cheryl captured an unusual photograph in room #8. Here’s Cheryl’s description of what happened; “This same room produced the light streak that is present in the photo evidence attached. I saw a ball of light leave the bed in front of me and streak off toward the far wall; by chance I took a picture and caught the thing I witnessed with my eyes showing as a streak of light on the photo. Kevin was relating a story about a cowboy that had murdered a prostitute when this occurred.”

Another odd thing happened while Kevin and Cheryl were in room #8. They both swore they heard someone walking outside the room with boots on. No one in the group was wearing boots that night and when it happened the other group was working in a room across the main parlor area.

Monica captured an unusual photo in the Cowboy Room. The photo gives the appearance that Monica’s finger was against the lens when the photo snapped. However Monica is an experienced investigator and it would really be unusual for her to put her finger in this position. Monica tried to recreate the photograph, but despite her efforts she could never quite give the same effect. We can’t be sure it’s paranormal, but we’ll include the picture in case something similar occurs to other investigators.

While Cheryl and Kevin were in room #4, the Cowboy Room, they heard what sounded like someone tapping on the window with their fingernail. They searched for a source for this sound and could not find one. There was a heavy wind blowing that night and that could account for the noise but they could never find what was causing it. The noise would come and go and was never consistent.

We did not pick up any EVPs on this occasion and did not record anything of evidentiary nature on our video recordings. We did get several orb photos and while most of these we don’t consider to be paranormal, we’ve included a few of the more brighter ones to give the reader an idea of what the location looks like.

Miss Mollies is a great place in the Stockyards and gives the guest a feel for the old west. We would like to say thanks to Donna for her gracious hosting of our group and giving us another opportunity to investigate one of the most famous haunted locations in Ft. Worth.
