Green Olive Interiors
Stockyards Paranormal Investigations conducted our third investigation at Green Olive Interiors in Keller Old Town on the evening of January 30, 2010. Denise Moser the owner joined us for the evening. The team consisted of Cheryl, Amy, Shirley, and our guest investigator for the evening was Brandy.
A history of this home can be found in the write up of our first investigation that was conducted in 2006. Green Olive Interiors is one of the oldest homes in Keller built prior to the turn of the 20th century. It was home for many years to Dr. Edwin Reed and his wife Nannie. In addition to being the Reed’s home it also served as Dr. Reed’s office where he saw patients for many years. Both of the Reeds died in the home and are suspected of being the cause of the occasional activity that occurs here.
Reported activity includes apparitions, objects moving, lights being turned on, strange noises, and unexplained odors. During our two previous investigations we picked up EVPs, heard knocking noises as answers to questions, and had a whiskey bottle fall over seemingly of its own accord.
We began the evening with everyone upstairs in Dr. Reed’s office. The first session was fairly quiet. We observed a couple of K2 meter flashes. We also heard a few odd noises that seem to come from the attic, but nothing that was outstanding to us.
We then conducted a session in the downstairs area. During this session we got several more K2 meter hits. We left an audio recorder running upstairs during this session. Once again we did not pick up any unusual activity.
We then went back upstairs and conducted a session using the “hack shack”. The HS is a Radio Shack radio that has had the scanning ability modified. The radio continually scans the AM or FM band but cannot lock on any station. You will hear a word or two from the different stations as it scans. The idea behind this is that a spirit can manipulate the radio and speak through the device. We have used this on a few investigations in the past year but we have picked up nothing we feel has any evidentiary value.
As we started the session we got several flashes on the K2 meter. Shortly after the flashes, Cheryl felt her hair being touched. After about 10 minutes we turned off the HS as we were not picking up any voices. Right after turning off the HS, Denise who was standing on the stairway detected an unusual odor. Right after mentioning this, the K2 flashed again. A couple of minutes after the K2 flash, Kevin said that he had heard an exhale on the parabolic microphone and asked if anyone had made this noise. Everyone stated that they had not made any noise at that time. The audio of this sequence is included in this report for our readers to listen to.
We then resumed using the HS for about 10 minutes. During this session we picked up what seems to be a voice saying “Ed Reed”. We cautiously report this because we can’t say conclusively that is what was said or that it is not coming from a legitimate source. But to us it does sound like that name.
While any of these things taken by themselves are easily explained, we felt that it was interesting that all of these things happened in a fairly short period of time, about fifteen minutes. We had spent the entire evening with very little activity and the rest of the evening was uneventful.
Green Olive Interiors is always a fun place for us to investigate. One of the great things about it is that it is available to the general public to come in, browse the wonderful household decorations that Denise offers, and get a glimpse of Keller’s history. We are very appreciative of Denise for letting us conduct another investigation here and as always she is a very gracious host.
