Collyville Residence
The Stockyards Paranormal Team was invited to conduct an investigation of a private residence located in Colleyville. Since this is a private residence we will be more guarded in what we report on our website regarding the investigation. The home was built in the 1980s and is a very nice well kept home located in an upscale neighborhood. The current residents have reported a wide variety of suspected paranormal activity. Lights have turned on and off by themselves, doors have opened by themselves, and a foul odor. The residents have also observed a strange mist.
One room has seemed to be more active than others. The homeowners have referred to this as their ghost room. It is a bedroom that has been converted to an office or study. Flares of light have been seen in this room along with the previously mentioned odor. An investigation conducted by a different paranormal group captured orb photos in this room. This group also experienced battery drain while in this room.
The residents experienced something move through them while they were in the master bedroom and sleeping. This caused both of them to awaken at the same time and say “What was that”. A few nights after this occurred they observed a green glow and movement come from the same room.
A full body apparition has been observed on at least two occasions. The apparition is described as a white male with blond hair wearing a navy colored shirt. The apparition only appeared from the knees up, the area below the knees was not observed. This apparition has been seen walking through walls and has been seen both inside and outside the residence.
Investigation
We conducted our investigation on the evening of June 6, 2009. Our team for this investigation consisted of Cheryl, Shirley, and Kevin. We were joined by a guest, Dina. We began the investigation by taking initial photographs and EMF readings. We found a few locations in the home with higher than normal EMF readings, however these areas were all around appliances, near junction boxes, or around various electronic devices.During this evening’s investigation we would experiment with using what is known as a “ghost box”. This is an AM/FM radio that has the scanning feature modified to continuously scan. By doing this you hear the occasional word or phrase. The idea behind this device is that a spirit can manipulate the sounds to form words. These words can be distinguished from normal radio chatter and allow a spirit to communicate.
We began the investigation in the master bedroom. We used the ghost box for several minutes without getting any abnormal activity. We did hear several strange noises during this initial session. There were a couple of loud thumps which did not seem to be normal household noises.
We then moved into the “ghost room”. During this part of the investigation we heard what sounded like a growl. Unfortunately this was not picked up on our audio recorders. We did not pick up anything on the Ghost Box which seemed unusual. Just as we were ending this session we got some activity on our K2 meter. We tried to coerce more activity but the fluctuations were very brief.
For our next session, we left just Cheryl and Shirley in the house alone hoping that fewer people would help our spirit make contact. During this session we recorded voices on the ghost box. The spirit identified itself with the name Seth. This name comes through several times. The spirit also seems to call Cheryl a slut. Cheryl asks if there are other spirits in the room and you can hear the phrase “do I have to leave?”. These recordings will be included on the website.
For our final session we included all of our investigators along with the homeowners. During this session we heard a series of taps but we felt like this was probably coming from a natural source. We could not coax any further activity on the ghost box. An examination of both audio and video recordings failed to reveal any unnatural noises or voices. We did pick up a few orb photos which I have included. None of these are bright enough or show movement to the extent that we are able to distinguish them from small dust particles.
We certainly enjoyed our evening’s investigation. Unfortunately we did not collect enough evidence to be able to confirm the residence as being haunted. There is certainly enough activity to attempt follow up investigations. We would like to thank our hosts for inviting us into their home.
